I have a 68 coupe with a basic 289 2V engine with the Autolite 2100 carb.
I plan to install a Weiand stealth manifold and an Edelbrock 500cfm with manual choke (#1404).

How have you arranged the manual choke system for the edelbrocks? Pics would help.

Thanx!

I'd install the cable the same as the 289HP. There's a punch out for the attaching screw at the extreme left end of the dash, and a dimple above the gas pedal for the firewall grommet. Us the same grommet as the fuel line through the LH fender apron.

Great! Maybe I can use the same parts as for the hp? Do you have some links from where I could get them? Thanx!

I went with electric choke on my Edlebrock carb. I was going to go with a manual choke and I still may later on. If I do I am going to use the HiPo style one. I don't have any pictures of how it mounts though.

Thanks for the posts. I found the cable in the mustang catalogue. I will put it on my order list, for my next order.

Hi,
When I was running my 1405 EDDY, I used that very choke cable. The pull was mtd. in pre-drilled hole just below the ignition. From there the ca was routed to exit the firewall, pretty much, in the center and in direct line to the choke lever. The first and current pic shows the ca exiting the firewall and going to the choke lever on my Webers. This routing was the same for my Eddy 1405 (second pic). Notice the ca exiting just under the center of the export brace and travels just past the fuel line entry at the upper portion of the pic.
I'm not sure why one would have the ca routing from the fender side?

On some intakes the Eddy carb will not seal against the carb pad. Get the 3/8" insulating spacer (basically a thick carb gasket) that Edelbrock makes (part #9266) from Summit. It will solve any sealing problems AND help keep the carb from getting too hot.
