We have a 66 and the new Instrument Voltage Regulator that came with the gauges died shortly after we installed it on the gauges.

I decided to make a solid state voltage regulator with capacitors to filter out the voltage ripples. It is rock solid and never change like the old style does. Cost was about 5 dollars for parts from RadioShack.

I have read about different ways to do it but have not be able to find a step by step "how to" with pictures. I have added a web page on our "build" site if you are interested.
