i fired up the car today and it wont idle now for nothing. onces its running it will shut right off. i was reading over on the corral that the tach is suppose to jump when the key is on if the module is good. its not moving at all. so is it my tfi module or somehting else? it runs fine if i keep my foot on the gas. any ideas? btw its a 93 gt with a 91 5.0. thanks in advance for any and all help:SNSign:

This doesn't sound like the tfi to me. When my tfi went bad the car would die after a drive and it had warmed up. Then it wouldn't start untill it had cooled off real good. I would say look elseware for your problem.

Start by pulling the codes if you haven't already and let us know what codes you get. Then maybe some of the more knowledgeable people on here can help you.

Marlboro_Man: i dont drive the car yet but ill let it idle since the car had been sitting a while. after its warmed up idling i can shut it off and it wont start. like the battery is dead. then i can wait till the next morning and go start it and it cranks over fine but wont idle till its warm.
rockyracoon: theres no vacuum leaks we've spent the better part of two weeks traking them all down. replacing and blocking off what needed to be

That definately is a primary electrical issue (battery, battery cables, starter, solenoid, etc) and not the TFI (causing a no crank issue). A bad TFI can keep a car from starting (catching) but not from cranking.

Good luck.

checked the grounds and the good, i hooked up the ground that goes from the firewall to the bellhousing. still have the same issue but with a twist. i hooked up the battery charger and got shocked. everywhere u touch the car it will shock you even on the radiator hose. whats causing this?
