Firstly, great forum. Been lurking for a while but recently needed some information.

I've got an 89 with stock suspension, running 4 lug 17x9 Cobra R's. Right now it's got worn out 245/45's on all 4 corners.

What's the widest tire I could run in the rear, and the narrowest in the front?
I was hoping for a 295/45/17 in the rear and a 235/40/17 or similar in the front. Seems like that would give it a nice staggered big and little look. Would they fit, or would the front be too narrow and the back too wide for stock suspension?

If it matters I plan on lowering the car with Pro-Kits eventually, so about an inch drop.

I have 285/35/18 and I could go a little taller and wider if I wanted. You should be ok. May rub your quads, but f-it. Dont know how skinny you can fit on 9" rims, if 245 fit 235 should work as well. Do the math and take some measurments. If you dont know the equations for tire size look it up. It is nice to know anyway.
