Howmuch more RWHP should I expect with LONG Tubes?

With my combo? Thanks!!.o' and is putting a 90mm lightening air flow meter stupid with a 65mm TB?

First off, are you going from completely stock manifold/headers or just from aftermarket 1 5/8 shorties? If your going from completely stock to long tubes then I am willing to guess about 25 HP with your other mods being considered. Do you have an H or catback?

About the MAS idk. But I will say this...you NEED a 70mm t/b, a 65mm ain't cutting it with your mods. I have a fairly stock cobra and I put a 70MM on it and after having it on I would not suggest anything less for anyone unless you have a almost completely stock GT and never plan on doing any mods. Other than that they are a waste of time IMO. I got a book with dyno runs proving it. But with your mods you can definitely benefit from a 70MM maybe even a 75mm but idk about that for sure.

I see the Q as about the benefit of lt's over shortys

LT's are just great at propping up the tq curve at low to mid range.

For street cars ... if the truth be made known ... the peak values are not all different between them.

Then again ........... if talking about a street car ................

peak ain't where its at anyway :nono:

btw ... I think larger tb's are over rated :D
not saying they don't show gains
just saying ... I think they are a bit over hyped ... thats all

a 75mm t/b would be an overkill IMO. i just stepped from a 70mm to a 75mm with the new motor and i felt that only now would i benefit from it. as far as the headers go, grady is right. the peak numbers will be similar between the two, but the mid range should show a higher and flatter torque curve through the mid and lower rpm range. it is definitely a worthwhile investment though.

75mm is what you need IF you switch tb's. The trickflow intakes have a 75mm opening so 75mm IS what you use.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you want every last bit of power.

Btw, whats a "510 lift cam"????

nm...I'll just be nice..The 510 is missing a . for .510, the lobe and all part matches the "b" cam spec.

Concerning the 70 vs 75mm question, I just remembered the TFS intake elbow is only 70mm so that is gonna restrict that 75mm I guess. So assuming that and your other comments I might just do 70mm. I went with the Lightening MAF b/c that's what the dyno shops had recommended as it is close to oem for tuning.

Ok, her's a question for the experts. When I look at that $179 baby x-pipe that is a must have for the long tubes, I realize that I can have straight pipes made by a great local shop here. So why would you want the X or H and not just straight pipes? Thanks! :SNSign:

You are probably right about not much difference in peak power...maybe just a few HP nothing crazy...but if it is a street car then would you not benefit mostly from the improved scavenging of the LT's for low and mid range torque?...since that is where you would use it most on the street anyways?

By the way do you have any times for your Gt ? I seen your combo and was just curious....

You may be on to something :D

At the time I made my choice of intake (like 5 years ago), several peeps had things to say about it ...... knowing my goal was ...... a street combo.

I don't think my low/mid tq curve looks all that bad :nono:

They all said .............
well ... anyway
Take a look at my choice of headers :D

Hummm ... wonder if they have anything to do with my tq curve

No 1/4 mile times for Ole Red .............
it outta be bout like Paul's and all the other FTI combos :)

Yeah I just figured since you seemed you be arguing the short tubes side that that is what you would have. I stand corrected lol. But on a serious note I love my Mac CC LT's they are great.....nice finish, fair price, perfect fit, and no ground clearance issues at all...

I has no probs with my Mac LT's as well.

Like you said they fit tight to the floor so they don't hang low.

Mine don't touch, rub, or bang on anything.

They went on without a hitch.

Now ... If my 95 was lowered ... speed bumps would give me concern
then again
ANY LT is gonna be like that
