Hydraulic clutch in our cars?

Anyone watch RIDES the other night. It was the eppisode on the Elenor replicas. They put a tremec tko trans in behind a 750 hp motor and then installed a hydraulic clutch cylendermabober. Can we get this. Anyone ever heard of it for the TKO's. I think it would be a popular upgrade if it were affordable.

Anyone know what Im talking about.

you would need a M/C, bracketry for the M/C, lines to the slave, a boss for the slave, pushrod to the fork......not cost effective i dont think.
nice idea though. every time i drive the stang, and then the eclipse (hyd clutch), and i mash my foot through the eclipse floor, im reminded how stiff my cable and clutch are.
now if some later model fords came with hydraulic set up, that might be a tasty retrofit. my two cents and wild guesses.

maybe because im so used to the Stang, and i learned on it i cant stand hydro clutches....when i go to drive one of my friend's hondas or something the clutches feel so crappy...i like how the cable gives a nice solid consistent pressure against my foot...ive found with lots of hydro clutches that this isnt the case....

I agree cable clutches just feel some much better and it's one less thing to break.

my uncle's '01 GT has a Tremec TKO and a Mcleod juice clutch... there is literally no resistance when you push it in. Theres just a slight feeling at the "sweet spot" and thats it. And that mother grips like you have no idea. The car is impossible to stall, if you wanted you could rev it to 3k and drop it all day and it would just grip and go. I think the clutch is rated for 1400hp or something ridiculous like that. I don't like it because his car is silly fast (this is his daily driver!) and to me its as if there isn't enough feedback to the driver via the clutch. He loves it now but said that it took about a month for him to get used to it, he previously had an 88 GT with a FMS HD clutch.

I had a hydro on my MR2 I loced it at the time I had a 86 GT Conv. I use to drive the MR2 to the gym on legs days becasue I couldn't push the clutch in on the stang

In my opinion, a hydraulic clutch is just one more place for an oil leak! I had an old toyota and an 88 T-bird Turbo Coupe, both with hydraulic clutches. The clutches on both cars felt wierd, leaked oil, and were generally a pita (esecially when the M/C seals go and you have to drive home with no clutch!! ).

The cable clutch is a much more simple/efficent design. Plus you get a free calf workout on your left leg!!
