I broke the tires loose on my 2.3 auto...

Stick shift cars can peel out easy enough, I like to get going a little then floor the throttle and kick the clutch. The engine may only have 88 horsepower but the wheels can't argue with a flywheel spinning 6,000 RPM.

Well, when you get a 2.3 Turbo, be careful. I was leaving work one night while it was raining and pulled out onto a two-lane, tried to pass somebody going slow so I punched it in second and the back end about kicked out on me

haha...hey it rained down here last night...i had a lil bit of fun driftin around in the school parking lot...heh...cop was just across the street too

Country roads where hp/tq dosent matter, controlling the beast is.

I used to break them loose with my 2.3 n/a all the time...I could get it sideways around corners or just sit there and powerbrake it...makes me wonder why I never had A4LD problems...

That's why a lot of SVO's are no longer with us. I know I nosed my first SVO into the side of a bridge because I "got on it" to much in the rain combined with a curve just before the bridge.

They have bridges in central IA?

I thought they were all in this big valley in which I live.

It happend in Des Moines, downtown. I was in a hurry because I was late getting to the air port to pick up my girlfriend who I was marrying in a couple of days after that. Drove the rest of te way to the airport with a smashed front end. I don't know why I didn't get arrested. We then drove to my apartment which was not far fromthe north side of the airport.


Hmm, I didn't realize my "location" had switched back to what it was when I registered. I'm now in Colorado Springs.

the broke the tire(S) loose? Thats pretty good. In mine n/a i could break A tire loose but Rarely both. But i had a stick so it was a little easier for me.

When my then girlfriend graduated from ISU in 96, she moved to FL, came back a few months later for the wedding, then I moved to Gainesville with her. New Years Eve '99 we moved to Ohio, a year later we moved back to IA, my dad (general contractor) and I built us a new house, then in 2004 we moved to CO where we had wanted to live all along. I would still like to live in SoCal for a while and overseas. If we had a family, there is no question we would want to live in IA, though we'd still prefer to be close toa city like Denver. Wife is a total pro football/baseball nut who has always been a Broncos fan.

That's one of the "problems" with many turbofords, is the power just all of a sudden "hits" so you need to be paying attention when it's slick out.
