Man, I am so sorry. I know how it is to hurt your baby - I just had to replace a whole set of 18" Fanblade wheels because of "curb rash". One question, did the accident pop the air bag?
No it was not nearly enough speed for that. Just pushed the bumper cover in untill the real bumper stopped the car.
I have it all fixed now. I got a takeoff bumper from Brenspeed (actually from newtakeoff.com), and put it on, it was real easy. There was no damage underneith the cover. There are two blemishes that I could not remove from it though, they are kinda like creases just below the headlights where the bumper meets the fender. I think the person that removed it may have done that by being too rough with it. But once the bumper is on, they are real hard to see if you aren't looking for them, so I figured it's much better than the old one, and I'll just get the creases smoothed out when I can afford it. So my baby is back.
On the down side, while I was working my dumb ass knocked a work light off a shelf in my garage (garage is way to small and cluttered) and put a ding in the passenger rear fender flare. And it's right in a spot where you cannot get behind it, so paintless dent repair isn't even an option I guess I have to live with it. I never shoulda bought a new car lol.

A few years ago when I bought my 03 ranger I put a nice ding in the drivers door the same day I drove it off the lot. I parked it next to an 80s camaro, you know the ones with the small almost pointy mirrors. The wind picked up the moment I opened the door and pulled it right out of my hand and into the mirror, and of course there was no damage to the other car, not even a chip. Unfortunately the ding was right over the side impact beam in the door, so there was no chance of getting that ding out. Man was I pissed. I think i yelled for a good 20 minutes straight.
The dealer offered me a new door painted for $500, but I declined. At least I got blue book out of it when I traded it, despite the ding.
yea it seems like my luck with this car is horrible. It's my first perfect, new car, and I'm having way to many issues with keeping it that way. Maybe it's because it is so important to me to keep it perfect, maybe my paranoia is bringing me bad luck or something.
Bigcat, how can they fix it without access to the backside? I know they can drill a hole somewhere to reach the rod through to push it out, but I don't want any holes drilled.

They glue, for lack of better terms, a piece of plastic to the dent, and using a dent puller they pull the dent out. Providing the dent is not on a crease, or made a crease, you should be fine.
As painting things go,,, I bought a bright red cervini duck tail spoiler on ebay, knowing that I would need to paint it as my car is redfire....
So I brought it to the local body shop,, and the guy musta painted a few two many cars in his time.... He said he could paint it for $225.00.... I just about fell over.....
yep, they use an adhesive that does not harm the paint and pull it out from the front side. i have done it many times. however, when i was doing it, i was just roughing it out because i was painting the panel anyway. the shiny paint helps show any imperfections before grinding and filling a dent.
