surf at home. I didn't go into work today, out at a jobsite, and went to the local pick-a-part and found a '68 Ranchero with a SBF and a 9" rear end with a 9 code on the axle. The axles were missing, but the housing and the pumpkin are still there, wondering if it's worth the hassle of pulling out. I think I might be able to search for the 9 code, but I've come up empty on the width's........ ULTRASTANG!!! is that it, I'll do a search for him.... If I'm wrong, let me know, thanks.

Well, ultrastang had widths, just not the width of a '68 Ranchero rear. I think the 9 code denotes a 3.25 open rear. It's a single rib case, but the tag was missing, not sure if it was broke off (common amongst the locals on good rears until they can get down and remove them) or removed because the pumpkin has been worked on. With no axle, not sure of the ratio, but the motor had a 2bbl intake, so I doubt it's a Trac-Loc or anything.
