I don't think I've ever seen a Fox a door jamb this rotted out.

I traded straight up my stock black 91 LX 5 speed car for this equally as stock automatic 92 LX at the beginning of the summer. Its a pretty clean car, had some paint work here and there and had an exhaust and for some reason Maximum Motorsports caster camber plates. All looked good until I watch my black car drive away as I opened the passengers side door and OMG! I found alot of rust. I was pretty bummed but I like the car and really dug the AOD for daily use. I decided to rip her apart on my lunch break yesterday and found that it was ALOT worse than I expected. I have noooo idea why it got as bad as it did since the rest of the car is pretty solid. Luckily for me we have a customers car that was so rusted out that we got him a new rust free car and are using his original car as a parts car and the door jamb was pretty clean. So I hacked out the portion I needed and got to cuttin and grinding and 11 hours of work later I'm throwin some color down on it. I'm really happy with how it came in and it feels good to know its really solid and I wont have to worry about my door falling off anymore haha.

Really nice work Jesse. Looks like the car sat with that side getting hit by a sprinkler for a few years. Dont know how else to explain that much rust isolated to one spot.

I know! I have a guess that the car was drivin around with out the wheel well in it because the fender has rust coming out from the antenna whole and the top of the wheel opening on the fender. Oh well, this car came to me for a reason I guess.

Funny you say that, the whole car will get a repaint slowly over the winter. I have a set of fenders Im gonna prep and shoot then do it panel by panel before I sell the car. It should be a really nice cruiser for the next owner.

Yea, I've really become fond of the color. I'm biased to a good ol shiny black hatch from that being my first stanger but I really like the strawberry. This car is like 4 different shades of it tho. Thats why I wanna paint it. I'm curious to see what I could get for this thing once shes all painted. I'm even toying with the idea of doing a stock rebuild on her before I sell her.
