Taking your car somewhere is hit or miss. I generally avoid it unless it's something I absolutely can't do on my own.
I think speed shops are better for anything that isn't stock. By speed shops, i mean mustang speed shops, they have usually done it before so at least they know what they are doing. Usually anywhere you can actually talk to the guy who is going to be doing the work (dealer or private) is better. At least then you know what is going on.
