I hate my pypes...

mine works really well and can take a fair amount
A buddy of mine is running the Pypes mid mount system while everything else is stock. He never had or has any issues now with fitment. Riding in the car, I can say it sounds MUCH different compared to the Flows with stock H!!!!! You can actually hear the exhaust the entire time with absolutely no drone!!!!! Now I'm wondering what it sounds like with an O/R H??? I'd hate to spend money on a third set of mufflers
I wouldn't recommend removing the cats to eliminate drone.
The reason the drone occurs with almost every aftermarket system is because of the effective pipe length and its effect on the resonant frequency. Notice how stock axle-back mufflers have multiple chambers? These chambers increase the effective length for the pipes. That is also one reason why cars with the same engine but different exhaust setups can sound so different. Most aftermarket mufflers for the S197 are just straight through designs which invite extremely bad drone. The worst part is that you can permanently lose your hearing from the drone.

I had my Violators for 6 months and I had to wear earplugs towards the end. I learned an important lesson and won't mess with exhaust systems in the future. The power of silence is hard to beat IMHO. A loud car is fine for a weekend cruiser but a daily driver has to be comfortable for your body and organs.
Ok, so my temporary solution was to put the stock mufflers back on... After the M-80s 
It's really quiet now and sounds pretty good but is a bit too quiet. I basically did this as a proof of concept to show that I could hook up an axle back kit to my pypes system, I can, so I'm thinking I'll try adding an aftermarket axle back to it, maybe some flows.

It only took me 2 months before I replaced my violators - put on some corsa sports. No more drone and they are only loud when I want them to be
