try summit racing and look at all their options, i like ford performance (i dont think they have a 390 manifold though) or edelbrock performance RPM

How do you plan on driving the car? The victor is more of a race manifold and the performer rpm is more street friendly.

Just curious, did they say what was wrong with the old Edelbrock you already have?

my old motor was the 302 but I had a mildly aggressive cam and I went with the performer intake and a 660 double pumper and it went from lame to crazy.

If your broken intake is aluminum, it just needs a welder to fix it. Good choices for a 390 : Edelbrock Performer RPM, Blue Thunder's repop of the factory 428PI/427MR intake. Steer clear of the Offy intakes. The 360* is a piss-poor choice and their old "Port-O-Sonic" is a race only piece like Edelbrocks Victor for the FE. Only other's I'd recommend are used ones: Edelbrock's old F427 or Ford's 428PI/427MR

If you mean distributor then I think these guys are full of it. Correct me if I'm wrong but the distributor hold down clamp bolts into the block not the intake ?

You're wrong here. He's got a 390, not a small block. Dustributor hold down bolt hole is in the intake. Distributor goes thru the intake on the FE's
