I need an 8.8 rearend for my 1990 GT

I just bought a new set of 3.90 gears, an Auburn posi unit, installation kit, axle bearings and seals for my '90 GT, only to find out after pulling the carrier and ring gear out, that someone has apparently put a 7.5 rearend in this car. Is there anyone close to Leitchfield, KY (within driving distance) that has an 8.8 rearend for sale. I need at least the housing, axles, crosspin and crosspin bolt.

Well, local junkyards should have a few. Plus there are many vendors such as Mustang Parts Specalties that can help you as well.

skip getting axles, they're the same... 86-98 housings will work..

Thanks for the info about the axles being the same. I am kind of new to the Mustang game, and haven't worked on one very much. I'll check the local scrap yards tomorrow.

if you dont find an 8.8 in a mustang, some tbirds(like the SC) had an 8.8 also.
