hey guys, im installing my holly red fuel pump and am having a tuff time finding a place to put it. does anyone have pictures of their fuel pump location..holly red, blue or the edelbrock style.

the easiest place ive found so far is in front of the rear axle bolted to the floor pan(same place seatbelts are bolted into) but the exhaust dumps to the ground right there too...anybody think theres a heat problem with that?

I have seen people fab up a bracket that bolts to the fuel tank mounting flange (the side facing the differential), that allows the pump to be mounted nearly level with the bottom of the tank. Keeps it away from most of the exhaust heat, plenty of room for axle clearance too. I like to mount the pump as close to the tank as possible in a position where fuel is gravity fed to the pump, rather than the pump sucking fuel.

Look at page seven of my Cardomain page, I am in the process of installing MassFlo EFI on my car. I used an angle piece and a short steel plate and fastened it to the flange for the fuel tank. I removed the self tapping screws, drilled the holes to 1/4 and bolted it together. I can give you the measurements of the plate I made but it is pretty easy. I have a Magnaflow 2 /12 exhaust system and there is plenty of room.

I made a mounting plate for my pumps and filter right in front of the tank, see picture below...

It seems like that whole system that restoman posted is very exposed. It seems like something on the road could easily flip up and cut those lines very easily. Is there a cover that goes over that, or does it just sit like that?

You would be surprised by how sheltered it is, not much room in there and the differential housing is only a few inches away. Look under your own car and see how far up there the screws on the fuel tank flange are. Mine is mounted almost the exact same way, I used only one pump, not the extra low pressure feed pump he used. Although the straps around my pump are less that an inch from the floor.

68Restoman, is that 2 filters?

No, the middle item is an EFI (high pressure fuel injection) fuel pump and the other is an EFI filter.

As far as the exposure goes, the pumps and filter are well protected and I've since covered all the exposed portions of tubing with a combination of sheetmetal and rubber hose...
