PI heads/intake swap.

Might want to start typing out sentences and leave the abbreviations/shorthand at home because you won't get many repsonses that way. Kinda hard to read.
Welcome to the forums btw.

Not on a 4.6 your not!

The only thing that is gonna get you anywhere close in the kinda "cheap" your talking about is nitrous. Everything else is just crazy expensive, or doesnt do much by itself.

4.10s and slicks still probably won't get you into the 13's with a heavy NPI car. If your main goal is go fast for less than 1k in mods, you should have kept your fox or gotten a PI car at least.

agreed, cheap and fast.

my 1996 GT wth basic bolt-on's, stick wth 3.73's and d/r's went 13.60@101mph, then I added a Nytrous kit and slicks and wth a 50 shot, my car went 12.90's@105 and wth a 100 shot went 12.30's @109mph

total spent, new Nytrous kit, $400.00 & 2 used slicks wth wheels $200.00
so for $600.00 I dropped over a second and picked up 8mph, not bad

so....... my vote is for 'da Spray

Nitrous, gears, and off road exhaust. If you run a 125 or below and your a/f is good you wont hurt the motor. I have run a best of 7.9 in 1/8th which I think should translate into a low 12 in the quarter. I have run more bottles than I can count.

You have to remember that your friends with LS1's have about 100 hp on your car if they are stock. So for your to come even close it's going to cost a few grand to get you even close. I'd start off with a PI head swap with some aftermarket cams, compete exhaust(headers, off-road H/X, and cat-back), underdrive pulleys, throttle body and plentum, and mass air. This should get you close to your friends, but if you what to play it's going to cost some money!!

In the end, atleast you don't look like you're riding in a catfish.

That car will never be fast 4 cheap, unless you get NOS, slicks, & 4.10's, & it still wont be that fast. If you wanted a cheap go fast car, u shouldve stuck with a 5.0.

GO LARGE and buy a Shelby Cobra 500 then laugh at them when they cross the finish line a few seconds later

Sorry man the reality speaks the truth and for $1k in that yr car you'll be finishing second a lot.

Unless you go with the 100 shot NOS at least it will make them sweat a bit.

If all you want to do is 1/4 then you probably should have, as they are much lighter and have the 5.0 that have a mature aftermarket option packages for whatever power level you wish to get to. Most of those packages are not cheap though as they include a matched set of intake, heads and cams. If you search the classifieds, you will find PI heads with cams and intake for quite a bit less than 1K. That's the way I would go today if I had to do it again. When I did PI cams and intake only, there wasn't any used components out there and had to buy new pieces for my upgrade.

Don't forget though, the newer stangs have a better overall package than the original foxes i.e. brakes, 5 lugs, 8.8 rear (compared to earlier 7.5), stiffer platform, better steering, better interior, tires/rims etc...
