i need some help from people who know how to make a fast cheap mustang

i dont wanna blow up my daily driver wit nos i want a 13 sec daily driver i was thinking 373s

The 96-98 4.6L will arguably run high 14's in the 1/4.... maybe slower. Adding 3.73 gears will only drop you a tenth if you are lucky. Getting into the 13's with your engine will cost you well over 1000 dollars. Gears do not add power, they change your gear range. In order to get into the 13second range, you probably wont get there by adding bolt on parts. Save up for the PI heads and cams and you might manage to get into the low 14's like the 99+ GT's, then its a matter of bolt ons.

Also nitrous will not blow up your car. Engines that blow up on mild kits were installed by mildly stupid people who didnt take the necessary precautions to their air/fuel mix before using the spray. So yeah..... 13's cheap on a 4.6L isnt going to happen

Update on '98 with PI cams and intake - no PI heads (with some extra bolt-ons) at the track. This was also my first time at the track and went 14.3 yesterday fairly consistantly by the end of the day. I will start a seperate thread with the sheet and more details. Bottom line, it's possible, for not too much money, to get an SN95 in the same range as a stock 99+ stang if that's what your going for.

If you want 13s N/A however, you'll probably need more than what I have, unless you can drive better than me by >3/10s. i.e. PI heads, aftermarket cams, plenum/tb, tune/chip, better catback, headers, LCAs, weight reduction etc...
