I ordered a ramchargers fan because the sn95 wouldnt fit. Right now I have just over 4" of space between the crank pulley and the radiator. Ramchargers says their fan is 3 3/8" thick so that should fit. My problem with the sn95 is that the fan motor was hitting the crank pulley. It was $80 + shipping, I got the one w/o the wire harness since I dont need that fancy harness and stuff.

Hopefully tonight I can get the new fmu fitting I need so I can cut the 90* one off since its loose and get the FMU mounted and installed. I wanna get the T rex in tonight too.

"My problem with the sn95 is that the fan motor was hitting the crank pulley."

Guess it's different than Mark VIII fan, the motor hits end of water pump shaft unless you shift it off center.

How wxactly does the SVO PCV valve work? I have never used one of those yet, it still has the standard port on top or does it hook up differently?

Why not just drop a 255 in the tank, requires no wiring, and i hear nothing but bad things about using the t-rex. Many shops refuse to even use the trex.

I have a 255 high pressure in tank. Reason I am using the T rex is because Rick and Joe both highly suggested I use it.

I got the T rex mounted yesterday and fuel lines all hooked up. I ran the main power wire too. I just have to tighten the nuts but I need someone to put a socket on the nuts that hold it down in the trunk while I go under the car and tighten the nuts. Had no one to help yesterday. Quick question, does it matter which post on the T rex I put the + and - wire on? I dont think it matters? If its dry tonight, maybe I can get the pump all wired up. If not, maybe i'll assemble the brackets.

Mike they are marked + and - I beleive, atleast the ATI pump was.

MIke permatex the nuts to the floor, let it set-up and then slide under the car and GENTLY start all the bolts. They you can put a wrench on the nuts and wedge it against the sparetire well side and climb back under and tighten them down

Last time I did it I tacked the nuts to the floor with the welder..lol When your by yourself you find a way.

lol yeah I guess whatever works, Rick.

As long as its not raining like it did today, i'll see if my dad can help me get the pump tightened up. Hopefully I can wire it all up too. The pump was the most PITA so far. I'll check to see if the T rex labeled + and -. I don't rememebr seeing a label though. Anyone with a T rex know for sure???

I got the bracket set up tonight. I measure the pivot bosses on the alternator and smog eliminator and the smog eliminator isn't what vortech says it should be. Looks like I have to shim the smog so I can have proper belt alignment. You can visually see that the alternator sticks out a little more than the smog. No biggie, i'll shim it and tighten all the bolts nicely and hopefully mount the bracket to the engine.

I updated my install link with some more pics. Nothing huge, but here it is: http://community.webshots.com/album/217763474AxophZ

Today I got the T rex all tightened up, but I still gotta wire it. I gotta drill a small hole to get the wires to the pump. I didnt see anything on the pump that said which side is + or -. maybe tomorrow I can wire it up.

I got the main bracket installed and the head unit and oil lines. But of course I have to pull the head unit off because one of the bracket bolts is bottoming out in the hole. Im gonna put a few washers on it. Its the 7/16" bolt. I used antiseize on all the bolts fwiw. The discharge tube seems a little short, hopefully once I get that bottomed out bolt fixed and all bolts fully tightened it'll move the whole assembly back a little. Yep, i'm very anxious. But as you've noticed, i'm taking my time and doing what I can with the limited time I have. I really hope to have the T rex wired tomorrow and hopefully the FMU connected and mounted as well.

Anyone know of a good powerpipe that does NOT require any fender cutting what-so-ever?

I got the T rex mostly wired but it started to rain so I couldnt finish I just gotta tighten down the pump wires and hook up the + wire to the battery. Rick, you were right, the T rex is labeled + and -. I saw it after I put the wires on and luckily I guessed right and didn't have to switch them

Does anyone know of a 3.5" powerpipe so I dont have to cut my fender hole?

Also, anyone know about the crane interceptor? From what I read, its similar to a PMS but not as many fancy options. Used ones are cheap on line and im thinking about picking one up if its not over my head.

So, you think good tin snips can cut it neatly? Roughly, how much am I cutting? If I do decide to cut it, I think i'd go for that 4" UPS boostmaster pipe for $100.

Metal snips will work great, a neat trick it to wrap the edges in some sort of rubber trim to prevent scratching the Power pipe, and it looks cool.If its 4 inches, get a 4 in ruler and start measuring.

Ok, well i'm almost done. We have had a lot of rain lately so i'm not done yet Heres an updated pic link http://community.webshots.com/album/217763474AxophZ

I have a question about the pcv bypass kit. Its supposed to hook up to the oil filler vacuum port and connect to the vortech air box. Im not using that air box because it doesnt fit with my maf. Can I just run it to the port on the TB instead? Its basically an inline filter and rubber lines.

My main issue now is finding the right belt. I been back n forth to autozone about 3 times and i'm gonna make it round 4 tomorrow. Looks like 85" belt is what I need.

I trimmed my ramchargers fan where it needed it and once I mount it i'll have almost a 1/2" of clearence.

I should be running this week once I sort out all the little bull**** holding me back.

Mike

Mike,

NO dont run the oil filler to the TB, if left like that you will be adding boost to the crankcase, bad bad bad.

you need to vent it back to the intake side of the blower, in front of the blower.

What about a breather? For now im running the stock vortech inlet. Maybe for xmas I might get a UPR powerpipe which is plastic. If a breather isnt recommended, how can I get it to work with the stock vortech inlet? I'm also gonna be using a pcv valve from a turbocoupe T bird/svo mustang.
