i really blew it this weekend- 5-speed trany and tweecer guys stop in please!

chasing after a 12 second pass i blew up my t-5. im looking at the new tk-600's anyone out there using one? how much money are they? my mechanic told me a rebuild just wouldnt cut it, especially if i am going to be using slicks in the future... also, i just got a new frpp alum drive shaft, with the tk-600 am i going to need a custom one or will this one work? also, what about my new AFM super king cobra clutch and AFM alum flywheel... will they work? i just spent all of my money on those parts plus a few others, if it werent for my lil sister i would be selling the car, shes always good for a few thousand when things get bad. i was $200 away from being out of debt with her, i hate braking parts. Are there other trany's i should be looking at besides this one? if so please tell me!

oh also, i am looking at the tweecer rt, i am clueless when it comes to tuning an engine, who should i turn to in Ma. i live on the south shore (Hingham). i am looking for a proper dyno tune so my engine lives a long time, for once its not about increasing the power, i cant afford anymore problems she needs to hold up.

w/ a 1.9 60 foot(-- Is that good? Cause I know I could drop atleast a tenth or more even on my street tires on my 60ft.

A TKO 500 or 600 will run you about $2000 altogether with everything you need.

If you are looking into a new trans I would definately suggest the TKO 500/600. However the prices are all in the $2000 range no matter where you go. And that includes the swap parts and a new clutch disc which is what you will need. The tko's have a 26t imput shaft compared to the stock 10 I believe.

You will need a driveshaft spacer in order for your driveshaft to work with the tko 500/600. I have one so if you want it just pay for shipping and its yours. I had a custom DS made from a local place.

EDIT: I guess I should say something relevant...

That sucks about your T-5. They seem to be alright until you launch them hard AND hook. I have launched hard on the street, but I never hook up. I have never been to the track(at least not to race). I am hearing a little whining from my T-5. So I know it's days are numbered.

Also, the TKO600 seems to be the way to go(if you can afford it) for a strong 5-speed.
