I want to beat LT1's

Im a newbie so dont flame me, but i have a dumb question. If an 98 mustang has 225hp and a 99+ has 260hp, how come with 35hp worth of mods, (bolt-ons or whatever), a 98Gt will not run similiar times as a 99+???? Meaning that once a 98 has 260hp, they are still slower than a 99+???

didn't pre 99 came with some taller rear end, like 2.73 or something now that I think about it??

Why do so many people on here glorify the Camaro's? Learn to drive your car and blow those mother****ers away! I've been doing it for years with only a few mods to most of my mustangs. They aren't that fast and are even slower without a good driver. Don't be scared of your car and have fun blasting the plastic of the F-bodies! :owned:

Really live it up. Theres nothing like putting a car on a LT1 within the first second of a race.

I have never felt a car launch like my GT does. I can roast um or hook and leave the line like a s.o.b.

Well, most LT1's 'left' on the road today are kinda shabby, but how many LT1's do you really come accross anyway? Maybe I see one or two LT1's a month here in Jersey, all the rest are V6's or LS1's. Stock LT1's went 13.8-14.1, with the Ram Air models being in the 13's. Those LS1 "Gods" are a completley diffrent story...

I have a 96 GT, i really didn't get beat by to many people but it was still slow for what it had. I put the 99 cobra motor in, bolt ons, and took weight off, now i'm not worried about anything that comes next to me. Unless it has a crazy power adder then i'm a little skuurred.

RAM AIR LT1's are no faster than the others, just like LS1's. DUH!!!

If Ramair equipped LT1 is just as fast as LS1, then we GT(stock, or mildly modded) owners have no chance in hell to beat them. LS-1 runs mid to low 13's all day long :nonono: The Z-28 Forum I'm also menber of, I seen time slip on SS that run 13 flat(with DR tho)

mity, the '96-'97 WS.6 and SS (Firehawk too) were basically no quicker than the base T/As, Formulas and Z28s. LT1=LT1

Just like the '98-'02 WS.6, Firehawk and SS are really no faster than the T/As, Formulas and Z28s. LS1=LS1

Basically.

The RamAir on the Pontiacs were always better than on the SS Camaros and they did help slightly at higher speeds...just not enough to say that they will always be faster than they're non-RamAir counterparts.

Yep, All the same. The raim air on the cars was so useless it really did nothing that a aftermarket CAI couldn't do. Looks only.

But I must say, it did look good. I was looking for one when I bought my GT.
But SS LS1 was really expensive. One I was looking at(I think it was 01) was near $20000, when I came across my GT for $14500 :(
