Simple! What year is it?

Most likely it needs to be replaced if you are having trouble. Use intake cleaner that is safe for throttle bodies ONLY...nothing else. It was state that on the label. Spray the crap out of it. be liberal witht he cleaner. Keep spraying and shaking it out. Then let it sit for a few minutes and spray again. As far as I know you can put it on still wet, just get as much out as you can out.

Have more problems send me a PM with you phone # and i will call you.

spray with throttle body cleaner, carb cleaner, or brake cleaner. flood it so theres a little pool ans swish it around and dump it. then spray it again and let it sit for about 10 minutes. you can wipe bare metal areas with a rag.

you shouldn't need to buy one if you clean it.... you'll just have the same problems with a new one in the future... cleaned my father-in-laws 2 years ago and haven't had to do it again yet...save the $80 and just clean it when it needs to be done...JMO

when i was at the dealer we used brake cleaner, mostly cause getting a bottle of throttle body or carb cleaner meant a walk over to parts dept. i used brake cleaner on my IAC and it fixed it for a few months. i wouldve just cleaned it again, but on a crown vic the IAC faces the firewall and its kinda of a PITA to get to so i got a new motorcraft one for $40
