Idle DAMMIT!

I have that whistling sound too. I have pretty much gotten my idle to be livable, but it does hang up when you hit the gas. Should it just rise and then fall immediately? Do I have a vacuum leak as well? And does anybody know where to look for the whistle. I have checked all the possible culprits that I could find

Looks like were in the same boat. I have this whistle, it could be the TB or another vacuum leak. I'm going to overhaul all my lines tonite and tomorrow, i cant take this sh1tty idle anymore. :(

Hope you find the leak. As far as the bucking at low speeds, mine does the same, and I know I have no vac leaks. The car runs great, except at any rpm below 1500 the thing has a slight bucking or pulling action, in any gear. I have researched this, and I read that the TFS Stage 1 cam is famous for this. I would still like to solve it, but I guess I can live with it for a while.

Been in your boat...
That whistling.. its a vacuum leak... what else really makes a high pitch sucking air noise????
That tree you mentioned..by that guys hand. That is for the EGR. One line goes from the Upper intake to the tree and another from the tree to the EGR. I can give yo the color if you need.
The suging and bucking and running rich, is from a vacuum leak.. Ive been here and Ive had these problems. My leak was on the lower intake. But there actually was another.. I had an explorer intake first, and my throttle body didnt bolt up correctly with that intake, there was a hole underneath the TB that was allowing air to get in.. in combo with a leak between the head and the lower towards the rear. You need to spray ALL and EVERY little area where air is traveling through.. and ANY increase in rpms is due to the carb cleaning being sucked in. Id say go back to spraying it first.

On a side note, 32psi with vacuum OFF, is NOT stock. 38-40psi is stock. With a vacuum leak, you are getting unregistered air.. causing your car to run leaner than usual..so the computer throws more fuel..causing you to run richer than usual. Since the computer wants to set its own fuel psi and pulse rate, and the unregistered air is throwing the computer off, the car is surging.
Its a leak. You got to find it.

On a side note.. you need to make sure all your grounds are in place. Missing a ground will throw the computer off and really mess with the car.
