We had several major thunder stormes pass our way the other day and I hit a few deep puddles (more like lakes in the road). a few times my belt would slip. now my idler pully is squeeking like a pig in heat. can those be lubricated? if so whats the best stuff to lub it up with?

Thanks All

Are you sure it’s not the belt it self. While the car is running drip some water on the belt if the squeaking goes away change the belt. Also try cleaning the belt as well. While the car is running use a wire brush and press on the ribbed side of the belt (make sure you hold on to the brush firmly while doing this) that's a little trick I learned while working at Ford. Or just change the belt if you haven’t done so in a while. If the squeaking continues after changing the belt remove the belt and start the car with the belt off if the squeaking is gone change the idler pulley I don’t think there is a way the lube it.
