Ignition issues - worth upgrading to MSD?

See my sig or garage for my info on my setup..

The car has a miss around 1900rpm, and feels hesitant/unresponsive until about 2500rpm. Once it hits 2500 or so it wakes up suddenly and pulls like crazy up to 6k or so. I've tried a different MAS, TPS is fine, EGR/IAB work, wires are good, no codes, etc.. The only thing I can think of is the TFI module or PIP. When we were tearing my motor down a bunch of the water pump bolts broke off in the block and we had to heat them out (the dizzy was still in at this point). I think we may have cooked the module in the process.

So my question is, would I benefit from upgrading to the whole MSD igntion system, rather than just replacing the TFI/PIP units? Thinking of the 6AL and billet dist. Also, with the 6AL do I use my existing Blaster coil (the direct replacement model) or do I need another one?

your coil is fine, try to regap the plugs to about .045 b4 you do anything.....
they aren't platinum are they?

if the regap doesnt help do the msd

but it's prob the the module

The plugs are autolite 24's (not platinum), I have them sidegapped to .055" still from the stock heads. I know the powerheads are milled .040", so I'm not sure what my compression is now. I'll throw some new ones in and gap them a little smaller and see what happens. Just wondering if a capacitive discharge ignition system like the MSD would offer any type of noticable performance improvement with my mods.

The stock ignition is good past 350 flywheel HP. Unless NO2 or forced induction is in your immediate future, I would say the stock ignition is fine if all the parts are working like they should be.
