Ignition switch?

I need a little help diagnosing a weird problem. 2001 3.8L auto. Was running fine last night. This morning would not start. Sometimes the dash lights come on and the dinger dings but it won't turn over. Then sometimes it appears to have no power anywhere. No lights, dings, radio, clock. Then sometimes it will just start dinging for a short time with the door open. The battery shows a full charge. It started and ran well one time but will not start again.

I think it sounds like a bad ignition switch. Anyone else have an experience like this?

Sounds like a bad battery to me.

Is the top of the battery clean? Are the battery cables clean and tight?

Check all of the battery cables and grounds. Bend the cables to see if brittle (corrosion inside the cables).

Also check the battery cable stud on the bottom of the Battery Junction Box (BJB) inside the engine bay.

Any other recent work on the car?

Turn on the head lights when this occurs. What do the head lights do (bright/dim/off)?

Also possible to have an internal open inside the battery.

Got it

Just a follow up. It was a poor battery ground wire connection. Was make intermittent contact. I cleaned it and reattached it and all seems to be well.
