So the next few projects for the Mustang are slowly beginning to get underway.
I've got some Baer track brakes sitting in the garage along with some Falken rt-615's. I believe the size is 225/45/16. Don't quote me on that...

Anyhow, any good (cheap) rims that are 16x8? I've got a 66 so something around 4.5 inches of backspacing is going to be needed. I've had a heck of a time finding some rims. Hopefully you fellas can help me out.

I also have some money for a total new ignition system. I really want to go with MSD. What would you change about the stock system if you had about 500 bucks to spend? I don't know too much about ignition systems, so any info would be appriciated.

I also picked up a t5 from a local guy for next to nothing. It's a 87 (or so I'm told). Anybody have a quick parts list for the conversion? I know to use a 28oz flywheel. I want to go with a late model bellhousing because I'm just going to convert to hydraulic. I'm going to run Hi-po headers just because I don't want to run into clearence issues. I'll probably order most of the stuff from Modern driveline, but again, your input is welcome.

Thanks a lot guys. I'll definately write up guides with pictures as I install these parts... so that'll be my contribution over the next couple of weeks/months.

ps. the semester just started... so we'll see how much work I get done.

You should give the Crane system good look. Their Hi-6 CD system offers some nice features not found on the MSD. Distrbutor has easy adjustment of vac & mech advance via switches - no springs to deal with. The ignition box has a lot of great features too like adjustable rev limiter dial - no need to buy modules like the MSD.

Do a forum search, there are literally tons of threads on this subject. I did the T5 with hydraulic clutch as well and you do not have to worry about clearance with headers. That is actually one of the huge advantages with going hydraulic. For other parts need, you will need new cross member, drive shaft yoke, transmission mount/isolator, speedometer cable & gear, obviously cluth & pressure plate and in many cases, your driveshaft will need to be shortened. Modern Driveline is an excellent resource to help you with this swap. They have all the parts needed. Good luck with the swap, you will love the T5 in the early Stang.
