Illegal Window Tint

Im wondering how many people have tint that is darker than legally allowed in their state? In Florida its 35% on the fronts and 15% on the backs and I was thinking about getting atleast 15% all the way around, mainly because we got about 38% on the front on our Alero and its not nearly dark enough.

Also, how is driving at night with that dark of a rear window, isnt it harder to spot cops, not that I speed, especially at night.

Can I get some pics showing how dark each percentage is? like 5%, 15% 20%

I have 15% on my windows in my truck and cobra. I think its the perfect level, not to dark to make it harder with night driving or attract the cops. It is illegal but I have been pulled over numerous times and I have never had a problem with it. Now I have had friends with 5% get pulled over and been ticketed for illegal tint.

i have 5% all aroung on the stang and on my ranger. the wife has 15% on her jeep all around. i have had 2 tickets on the stang and too many to count over the past 7 years on the ranger. however the wife has never gotten a ticket for her 15% tint.

How is it that wive's never get busted, but us guys always get it?:bang:
Since getting my GT, I've had 2 speeding tickets, 1 ticket for running a red light (it was barely red and I didn't wanna spill my Starbucks!) and, yep, nailed for 5% all around. Both GTs have 5%, and she drives as fast as I do...but I'm the ticket king in our household.

5%, no trouble so far luckily. My freind also has 5% on his 'stang and he got ticketed a while ago for it.

I try not to attract attention.

Its very very dark and at night it can be a little bit of a PITA, but all around its not bad.

I live in a state where it's zero tint on the driver and passenger windows and I have tint. I've never been bothered. I also don't have a front plate.

I've heard of cops making you pull tint off right on the spot. I'm not sure what would be happen if I was asked to remove it. I don't think I would.

So with 20% you can see in a little bit? I think im gonna go with 15% all the way around, now the problem is finding a good shop to do the job. What do I have to tell them about the dot matrix?

even though your car is in the direct sunlight, your tint looks lighter than the 38% I have on teh alero.

No kidding. It's pretty light. I actually wanted some 20% but if it's measuring 22% and 28% (go figure that one) then I need to get 15%...

5% and I've never had a problem. I just roll my windows down when I'm near cops lol...plus, they seem to actually be doing better things than pulling people over for tint violation hahahaha

Is the window tint thing a moving violation in most states? I thought it was more of a kick in the balls if you get pulled over for something else.
