Never lived in freezing climate before and I hate it  Went out Friday to see the doctor and it freakin snowed, IN TEXAS! So the car is all dirty now and it was only upper 20's yesterday and its only 30 out today. Cant wash the car without the water freezing. How do you guys wash your ride this time of year?

i go to the wash-it-yourself place, they use heated water. then when you are done...drive real fast to get the water off.

but there is one of those places that after you wash it they have 1 bay dedicated to dryers, and you get unlimited dry time for a buck.....sometimes i go there, but that one is a little out of the way.

Go to a car wash. In the winter the water is heated. Either go through the automatic bay and they blow the water off or do it yourself in the bay.

Afterwards, drive around to blow the water off before you park the car.

Typically, i wait til it's about 32 to wash so i don't need to worry about ice forming where the water has been blown. Usually i wash my car first and do my errands so that the water evaporates as i'm driving around.

If it gets above 40...i hand wash in my driveway. I even waxed my car before the last snowstorm. Snow just slides off a freshly waxed Mustang :)

Make sure you rinse under the car to get all the salt and sand out of the wheel wells and undercarriage. You pretty much wash your car just to get that stuff off....not so much to make it look good

I washed mine yesterday in my garage. We have a 2.5car garage and then a 1car side garage. Pulled out the two in the 2.5 and pulled the stang in.

Washed and dryed it and then put it back in the side garage.

It was still only like 40* in the garage but that was better than 5* outside. LOL

the only reason for worrying about it being freezing or below would be the door locks freezing.
keyless entry ftmfw!

and as said before, this time of year in the north you dont wash the car for looks but to get the salt off the undercarriage.

sucks when the windows freeze shut though:nonono:

Yeah, I will just wait as I have a weakend imune system anyway. Somebody please look at my other thread and tell me if that hole is supposed to be there, its driving me nuts!

Don't. You will lock yourself out of the car!! The water makes the weatherstripping hold the door shut. I don't drive my car in the winter, but I haven't washed my 97 F150 since October!!!
