Im getting pretty Dissapointed in my Stang

Well, same story with me...so I KB'ed it and still wasn't happy with it - still needed forged engine parts, stronger transmission parts, axles, etc. Already dumped 10k+ into it. I'd say just do what you think you'd like, but be prepared to do it right or you may still be unhappy with it.

I had the chance to get rid of my '02 and right now I'm waiting (like someone else mentioned) for the next generation Mustang. But until then, I'll probably Stage3 my SRT.

I think the problem is too many think they can make a "perfect" mustang if they have deep pockets(not to deep obviously). Others are trying to make up for other shortcomings and they become upset when they find out their mustang is one big ol shortcoming.

I still will never understand people who do $15k+ in power minded mods and they are not being paid to do so($$$$ drag racing). Alot of mustang owners do all this before they even buy a home(or in some cases move out of the parents house)

Alot of kids also get blinded going from paycheck to paycheck expecting that next mod to be the end all -cure all, only to find a week later they are not satisfied.

what kind of "Import" smoked you? and besides, with whats in your sig, most imports, if modded right, dont need much to take a bolton GT, unless you can drive and they cant. id like to know how you spend 8k on all that crap too. if i spent 8k it would have KB and VT involved, only thing you have is a few boltons and VTs1 cams, so youre at prolly 280 to the ground , still pretty easy for a mildly modded evo/sti/srt4 to take down.

if you really like the 05+ get one, it may *feel* faster but it really isnt, and youre gonna get taken by imports just as easily.

i VERY clearly understand the power that this 2v is making.. whats your point? thats why im here complaining :) ..

On another note, seeing both sides of the coin is very important, like like guy who kb'd it and still wasent happy, and in much need of stronger parts now because of it. I see that as an easy trap to fall into, and no, if i boosted my car i wouldnt have any backup money for a new shortblock, trans, or rear if that went. I think the moral of the story in this thread for me is, (aka my plan).. keep going with some boltons, l/t's next and maybe a new k and an x pipe, and do simple things to the stang and keep it well maintained untill im ready to step up to the next level with all the money before hand ready to support it. as many of you dont probably know, im still a poor college student for the next couple years, so blowing it isnt a wise decision. probably shouldve stated that before the $6500 suggestions came in.

btw, the car was an imported from japan (drivers seat on other side), some kind of suburu hatchback making 325 to all wheels, and 300 ft/lbs of torque, weighing in at a bit over 2700 lbs. happened to see him in the gym the other day and saw who it was/what he drove. i guess ill take the loss cause i was supposed to lose

i dunno, maybe they mod their car cause they like to . i dont mod my car for monetary gains, i mod my car cause i like to see it get better. and yeah, modding paycheck to paycheck isnt a good idea, but neither is living paycheck to paycheck.

just to let you know, nobody is really happy for long when it comes to modding if they mod for reasons other than the fact of modding itself making them happy. if they mod their car to beat some other certain car or another buddy theyre in for a rude awakening.

besides, if youre on a college or a tight budget, id just revel in the fact the car you have here and now is probably better than most the other people have in college and be happy with it for the time being, knowing one day, with a proper edumacation, you will have more money than you know what to do with, and its all going to go into a car to make up for the times you wanted mods but couldnt do them.

by the way, i went from a 03 Cobra and my GT to just my GT. I make good money, but i realized it was better to have alot of spare money each month for lots of mods on one car than just one mod on each per month. btw, i have it in my budget to spend at least 400$ a month on maintenance or mods on the vehicle, and 400$ to save for additional mods, so if i spend nothing on my car for a month, thats 800 i have for the next month. i have no idea what this has to do with anything, but im bored at work so ill just keep typing away.

lol.. nice. ill get there someday. your statement about having a nicer car than most is.. not bragging.. but very true. all paid by myself too, which makes me more proud when i think of it. now.. :OT: ..time to find randy about some sway bar bolts and clips

I feel the same way sometimes about my baby... but when I'm at a gas station or red light and someone in a "better" or "faster" car walks or pulls next to me and excitedly begins to say how much they have always loved Mustangs, well it makes it all worthwhile.. I was in a gas station one evening and this guy pulls up with a Charger SRT8 and he asks about my car and just starts raving over Mustangs... The Mustang is a classic no matter what year or how slow/fast it may be, bottom line is people simply love to see them..

ahh i know this feeling. im only a few grand in (highschool working my ass off) but it still rides like dump. i love it at the end of the day though. sometimes these kids doing wierd swaps with their hondas make me jealous. but then again 400+ hp for them is allot.... thats all motor for us...

i vote fix all the little junk. thats what im doing. some of its tedious(sp?) but i think its worth it.

edit- i drove a 06 gt and was not impressed at all. i felt like i was in my dads 05 F150 (same HVAC controls, radio, ect) it floated around like a boat, when i went it sat down, when i stopped it seemed to get on its knees. it rides nice, but i dont want it to if im gonna feel like im driving a boat. it was fast, but i dont care for it.
