Alright guys i dont know what happent but last week my car started smoking and i felt a big lost in power. i am thinking of puting in a used PI motor or biulding one from a mercury aluminum block with low cop pistons. which is the best way to go? i realy want to build one up and im not in any type of hurry so what do you guys think?

yup and so dose lincoln with the 4v its the same motor they used in the cobra before 03 and 04 but im not shore to tell you the truth. and i dont have any idea why its smoking. i changed the oil too and i put 20 50 in it and it still smoking and it dose smell like oil. by the way the thing that tells the miles that car has is at 137.118 and stoped working a very long time ago so any ways i have to do something

The Lincol Mark VIII was a Teksid block, same as 96-98 Cobras. Latter Cobras got a different aluminum block. 2V engines did not come with aluminum blocks as far as I know. Anyway it sounds as like your engine is just due for a rebuild. Not a big deal on the 2V and may as well bore it .30 over and get new pistons and rings and port your heads or get some of the new Trick Flow heads and some cams and you will be good to go :nice:
If you can get your hands on an aluminum block them better yet!

And gear vendors has that little gear to make the odometer work again. I think its like $30 shipped and is real easy to swap out.

I see the Marauder had the latter aluminum block as well. Did you find a wrecked Marauder? I would love to have its seats and wheels

yeah the odometer gear is $25 + $4 for shipping, mine is broken to, but i waiting to put my new motor in, then ill fix it,

and i did this, so i know how many miles are on the new motor;)

right now, i have almost 3k in my engine build, and im not completely done yet.......

Not sure about the total cost but if you look around you can find deals on pistons and rods, there are sales on just about everything right now because of the economy. I have seen new manley rods go for $200 on ebay not too long ago and there are always deals to be had on pistons. If you assemble it your self you can probably do the SB for less the 2gs. I do believe you will pay extra to have a aluminum block machined.

N2O prefers High compression.:nice: You need to decide if you want boost or spray before you buy your pistons, because that will dictate which pistons you NEED.
