The Lincol Mark VIII was a Teksid block, same as 96-98 Cobras. Latter Cobras got a different aluminum block. 2V engines did not come with aluminum blocks as far as I know. Anyway it sounds as like your engine is just due for a rebuild. Not a big deal on the 2V and may as well bore it .30 over and get new pistons and rings and port your heads or get some of the new Trick Flow heads and some cams and you will be good to go
If you can get your hands on an aluminum block them better yet!

And gear vendors has that little gear to make the odometer work again. I think its like $30 shipped and is real easy to swap out.

I see the Marauder had the latter aluminum block as well. Did you find a wrecked Marauder? I would love to have its seats and wheels

Why low compression pistons? Are you planning a KB or Torq Teck install? If your not pressed for time I would either build yourself a engine or take the time to save some cash and order up a forged SB and some trick flow heads.

Not sure about the total cost but if you look around you can find deals on pistons and rods, there are sales on just about everything right now because of the economy. I have seen new manley rods go for $200 on ebay not too long ago and there are always deals to be had on pistons. If you assemble it your self you can probably do the SB for less the 2gs. I do believe you will pay extra to have a aluminum block machined.

Keep in mind, nitrous works really well on higher compression engines.

Turbo and supercharger like lower compression.

N2O prefers High compression. You need to decide if you want boost or spray before you buy your pistons, because that will dictate which pistons you NEED.

Does anyone else think 20-50 is a little thick for a motor?

Yes, way thick.

Especially for a 4.6 IMO.
