Ok guys I want to know if this setup will get me into the mid 13's or lower. I have a 99gt auto with Flowmaster mufflers and K&N filter with a homemade cold air kit I made with the air silencer and a dryer tube. I want to add 3:73 gears, a ford racing 70mm TB, trick flow upper intake plenum, and a MRT X-pipe w/cats and I want to put turn downs on my mufflers. So tell what you guys think, is this a mid 13 worthy setup or not and if it isn't what should I add or replace.

Sounds like a mid-13 set-up to me. The only thing that might hold you out of that bracket would be not being able to get the power to the wheels. Run wider rubber on the rear & change your clutch if you don't mind spending the $$. Also while you're @ the gear change don't fear the gear. Go w/ 4.10s.

I know my track time doesn't show it but you don't need a 75-shot to run mid-13s. W/ his mods a 75-shot oughta put him lower than that. The 14.35 I ran according to the mods I had in my sig when I ran it shoulda been high-13s, but I have no fortune getting 1st gear to sync up.

Hope its ok for me to ask the same question in your thread about my car? So there isn't more threads about the same topic

How fast is my car able to go with the mods I have? See my sign.

I also want to say hello from Sweden, I think I'm the only swede here! My car is on a boat, along with all the mods, on its way from Canada rigth now, so in about 2 weeks I will have my new car. So therefore I'm curious how fast it will be

13.7 is mids!!

I think with a good launch you'll get mid 13's with those mods, I have a 99 5 speed and ran 13.706 (ALMOST mids ) with just a shifter and C&L MAF.

i think 13.8-13.9 at the most with an auto. you need to focus on coming off the line harder. stickier tires, and a torque conv. will easily put you into the 13.3-13.6 range. also maybe think about getting a 4.10 with an auto instead of the 3.73

I'd wager around 13.6-7. Gears are the best thing you can do (well except a torque convertor). Gears can take off 2-3 tenths depending.

Oh, a timing adjuster is a cheap way to get 8-12 hp.

Edit: 200th post for me

I thought about 4.10's but this my daily driver so i don't want to cruisin around at 3,000 rpm's all the time you know. What about 3.90's?

You'll be like 2900 with 3.90's... (not exact) but it's really not THAT big a difference.

add some nitto drag radials and you'll most likely be mid 13's......after I get gears I should be at 13.4-.5

I ran 13.5@101 in 100 degree weather on stock tires with my 2000 GT auto with a few bolt ons.

Torque Converter and Gears are a must....drs help a lot also.

i would say 13.80-13.85 would be the average ET for a 99 with those mods.

here's a few other questions since you dont have any idea of what car has ever ran.

where do you live? (altitude)
what is the lowest octane of gas you can run without detonation/pinging? (idea of how lean car is running)

i had an late 2001 stick that ran 13.60-13.70's with only pullies & densecharger, but would ping on 92octane or less.

my 2002 stick ran 13.9-14.0 with pullies, densecharger, dr gas X, ultraflows & short throw.

i would say go 4.10's, nitto's 275/40/17's & new diablo programmer..............then i would say 13.3-13.5

I cruise at 80 mph at 3000 rpm. I still think 3.90 are a waste.

if you could drive like me, and had the same weather conditions, your car should be right where mine is on the M/Ts
