so what is the deal with individual throttle bodies? i see them sometimes mostly on big blocks and older cars, but i noticed for the first time an integra with this set up. what r the benifits to this? and where can they be bought for 5.0's? and r they even worth it?

Here is the deal. In most cases individual throttle body intake manifolds are not long enough to give you any ram effect at low rpm, so they are almost strictly race pieces and usually very expensive also.

You could get an old quad webber intake for a 289 and get some webber replacement throttle bodies and weld in injector bungs, but it will be really expensive, it won't make any more power than a good box intake and it will have to be speed density unless you duct all of the air through one MAF which kind of defeats the purpose.

those are probably weber throttle bodies or a hilborn injection set up. thats for massive CFM and having the throttle plates that close to the head is supposed to icrease throttle response. thats more for a retrofit for a carbed motor or for show cars. i dont think you would get a dramatic power boost with them as you already have fuel injection. getting a larger throtle body and MAF is really good enough.

they are not mass air i believe and a pain to set up. they are also usually ran with out aircleaners and i dont think there would be room for 8 cleaners in a mustang anyways

they are available for the 302 block but big money. i think the mechanical one is around 3k and the electronic fuel injection one is around 6k.

check out www.hilborninjection.com it is neat stuff just in my opinion not what you want to do in your particular situation.
