Im looking for a set of injectors for my 89 GT and are coming across low and high impedence injectors. Whats the difference and what will work with my fox? Probably a newbie question. Thanks
basically the difference is the amount of current needed to open the injector, our mustangs use high impedance because it requires less juice to actually operate the injector whereas a low impedance needs more juice than a normal ecc can dish out.
but as your injector ratings move up say above 36lbs (low impedance) it gets physically harder for your cars ecc to produce enough current to open the injectors and can actually slow your car down. this is where your tuning, custom chips and eec's come into play.
