I am looking for some injectors. I only need 19# injectors. My engine has 154,000 miles on it and am going to change the injectors the same time I will change my intake. My question is I know the yellowish (or orange) injectors are 19# one's. But I notice the bottom of the injectors are painted black or silver or tan. Is there a difference?? Is one injector a single stream spray and the others ar 3 stream (or spray pattern)?? I am trying to cross Crown Vic's 19# injectors and by the book they won't cross for my 93 GT Mustang. Does anybody know the scoop with them?? I heard the Ford Racing 19# one's have a 3 spray pattern.

Pintle pin, 4 hole spray and 3 hole spray are all the same in terms of flow. If it is tan or orange it's 19 lbs. I had 5 injectors with a pintle pin and 3 injectors with 4 holes on mine before I swapped out the stock manifold for an Explorer one.

Fuel injector seal kits with 2 O rings and a pintle cap (Borg-Warner P/N 274081) are available at Pep Boys auto parts. Cost is about $2.74 per kit. The pintle caps fit either injectors with a pin sticking out the injector end or 4 with more tiny holes in the injector end. The following are listed at the Borg-Warner site ( http://www.borg-warner.com ) as being resellers of Borg-Warner parts:

http://www.partsplus.com/ or http://www.autovalue.com/ or http://www.pepboys.com/ or http://www.federatedautoparts.com/

Most of the links above have store locators for find a store in your area.

I am trying to figure this out- On my injectors there is a pin sticking out on the bottom (called the pinicle pin right)? The metal plate that the pin has on it has the 3 or 4 holes (very small) in it that makes the spray pattern?? I remember seeing a test on a OEM 19# ford injector- it only has a steady straight stream- not a spray pattern. I am trying to get a spray pattern and want to get injectors that have that pattern. Do they come on newer cars or is it only avail. from the Ford Racing injectors.

Here is a picture I took of my GM injectors, this is what you want, no?
