Doubtful. The difference between any CAIs is only a couple of hp. And the whole "heatsoak" idea has never been demonstrated that I'm aware of. As I said in another thread, think about how much air moves through your CAI's intake pipe and how fast it's moving and then tell me if you think it can really be absorbing much heat. Besides if the airflow WAS absorbing heat, the CAI pipe would be COOL, not hot as most people say.


BTW: For what it's worth, my K&N FIPK (CAI) gave me 3rwhp on the dyno.

+1 Your more likely to suck in warm air for the engine bay then heat transfer which is basically whats beening said.

Just installed mine this morning and followed hotdogs advice. No problems at all, idles perfect. The exhaust seems to sound a bit different too.

When I installed my plenum I had to install a new Motorcraft TPS also.

Yep I noticed that too if you have a CAI as well then it sounds like a NASCAR when you get on it! well mine does thanks to flow maters...

when i installed my cousins trick flow plenum and bbk throttle body, i didnt diconnect his battery.i just took evrything off replaced and had no problems. whats up with all the whistling though???

I let mine idle for a little while then took off. No issues still and I have put at least 2800 miles on it so far. I also did not check my TPS voltage.
