got around to finally trying out the upper box i made for my setup.

i was worried about it killing low end. but suprisingly the car feels the same down low. and it may have picked up top end i am not too sure, if it did its not a huge difference.

i didnt take and exact measurements but i really didnt lose much runner length as it looks. on the custom upper there is about and inch of runner and i am running a 1 inch spacer with this intake. plus two gaskets, so without whipping the tape out, i am guessing i only lost like 4-5 inches of runner. not too much, not like i drastically cut the length down...

however it did make the engine a little more responsive while driving around.

so overall i see no reason to take it back off. my line of thought is i am fixing to fab up a turbo kit on a stock block. i will be able to turn the boost up and split the stock block so as far as i'm concerned, so it really doesnt matter what intake is on it.

heres the pics.

btw i ordered some sticky tires that should be here this week. i am hoping to get the car to the track next weekend to what how fast i can get out of it N/A, see if its running good and all and then have a baseline then fab up the turbo kit.

if i feel like it, i may swap the uppers out again and see if there is a difference on that part of it.

let me know what you think

Man seriously...those valve covers look like complete ass. You need to get'em off and get you some Trick Flows or something, and after you get them off i'll give you my address so you can mail them to me and i'll dispose of them for ya.

;)

yeah man i will be updating that when i get started.

its been dragging out, i was really hoping to have had the turbo on or at least working on it. me and my dad got the new building done and all we need to do is get power run to the shop and move out air compressor out so i can use that.

i dont want to start digging in without all the things i need. i would rather have everything at my disposal. i literally have EVERYTHING laying in my room ready to do. i just need to build it. if i set myself up i dont see why i cant have it up and running in a week or two.

Looks nice, the 1" spacer is helping add some length as well.... Nice craftsmanship on all parts :nice:

Is the mating surface shaped like the runners or wide open? I've seen some interesting results when I milled the runner design out of the spacer on a boosted set-up ;) :nice:

the flange where it bolts down is just 2 weide rectangle ports with 4 runners in each. the actually 8 runners starts at the spacer itself.

so you just milled your spacer out in b/w the runners and had the 8 runners start at the manifold itself??
