It was quite an experience. 2.5 hours later, 1 broken manifold stud and a few bumps and bruises and it's finished.

I wasn't able to use the lift so I did it on jack stands. I dropped the freaking ratchet right below my eye. Slammed my fingers into the tranny I don't know how many times, punched the bottom of the car once while tighening up the bottom H-pipe bolts and ran over my own fingers with the creeper.

Not very fun to say the least. Fit was excellent except for one of the O2 sensors. It didn't seem that the wires were long enough on the driver's side bank at the bottom of the H. I'm waiting for the MIL eliminators to come in and it should extend the wires a little bit more.

Sound is great. Horsepower is excellent. I didn't lose very much torque and above 60 the speedo looks like a boost guage when you get on it. 100 comes all too quickly now. The droning isn't too bad at highway speed. It's a little louder than before but the radio at 1/4 volume can drown it out.

Smell is awful. The coating that MAC puts on them is burning off and it is Nasty. Overall I like them. The sound is unique with the dynomax's and it really opened them up. I'll hopefully get vids here in the next couple of days.

Dynomax + MAC O/R H =

Flowmaster = Not getting them any more

lol My car is the same way, I cant do anything on it without it putting up a fight. So there is def. a SOTP feeling? I want to get one, but i have 2-chamber flows, im afraid its going to be too loud.

I installed a MAC o/r H pipe last week and i must say that it was fun.

It is loud as hell with magnaflows (not magna packs), I have had several complaints in a week (also had compliments).

I have read that there is almost no inchease in HP and more likley a drop in TQ but the car seems to be faster. It must be the all the extra noise.

I'm doing a ton of driving this weekend so it should burn off.

As far as the LOSS in HP I don't see it. You can watch the speedo go 60 to 80 like it's nothing.

For loudness, I agree. My g/f told me that she could hear me from her house all the way to the KFC which is 1/2 mile to 3/4 mile.

I doubt it'd be too loud, I had 2-chambers on my '00 GT I used to have and I was VERY disappointed with how quiet it actually was, I dunno how much difference the H-pipe makes, but I would assume it'd probly sound good.

how loud is it volume-wise? I know it'll have a great tone, but how loud is it, could someone driving next to you on the freeway hear your exhaust?

or also say youre driving through a parking lot, at idle, is it quiet or loud?

(I ask, cause I'm in the middle of deciding on mufflers for my car, I'm thinking 1-chambers and H-pipe right now, but, maybe 2 chambers)

It has a nice deep tone at idle . Depending where the rpm's are depends how loud it gets. I have 4.10's so mine screams when I go through the gears. I would say people can here my exhaust on the freeway espacially if I downshift into 4 gear. Or even if I am in 5th gear 70mph its fairly loud too. I love it.

that's cool, I guess what I am really after is, that I want it to be noticeably NOT stock, at any RPM, idling, or winding up. So thats why I'm lookng at 1-chambers, but I am also doing 4.10's and the 1-chambers might be too much with that much gear!??!?! thoughts?

I realize wound up more, it's gonna be louder, but my other stang I had with the 2-chambers was real quiet at idle, it sounded stock, but then stomping on it, it sounded pretty good.

People will know its not stock as soon as you fire it up even with original 40 series flowmasters. The off road h pipe makes it sound so nice. If you go with one chamber flowmasters you will have to do some custom exhaust work because they are not offset like you current exhaust. The offroad h pipe makes the exhaust sound mean as hell.

1 chambers might be a bit much. Do you do a lot of freeway driving? If you drive on long trips 1 chambers may be too much.

Actually I do mostly city driving, mo more than 15 miles at a time, just around town, but about once every other month I make a 100 mile trip to see family, which wouldnt bother me, but the wife needs to not KILL me for the drone if it's TOO loud...

but I don't want to go to the other extreme either, I want it to be considered loud, I feel that all flows sound good, but I want to make sure my car is a bit louder than normal, I'm hoping that if I go with the 2-chambers, the H-Pipe will make it louder?

And also, I see a lot of talk about different series 2-chambers, is there a certain series thats loudest?

The H-pipe makes ANY exhaust sound loud. It would make OEM exhaust loud. My idle is amazing. You can actually hear the car rumble now and if the heater kicks on it's even louder. It's great.

If you go with 2 chamber flowmasters, original 40 series are the loudest. Do not get the delta flow 40's they are not as loud as the original 40 series. .
