Replaced completly stock setup with: Spec Stage 3 Clutch - TOB - Pilot Berring, Maximum Motorsports Quadrant, Firewall adjuster, and a FMS adjustable cable, and it's a whole different car.

The old clutch was alright although it was about that time, the TOB was the same way. The cable was sticky and stretched, and you should have scene the factory plastic quadrant. It was on it's last leg of adjustment and that tooth had broken, so it was near impossible to shift.

Currently breaking it in, so I can't try anything right now.

Sweet.. that's good to hear. I just put in a firewall adjuster, quadrant and cable, and my spec stage 1 will be here any day now. That's going in as soon as i get it. I'm hoping my car will shift a lot better with the new clutch.

Just curious, why did you go for the stage 3? You have to make some serious power in order to actually need it.

where did yall get your spec clutches from...i cant find anywhere that sells them? i just installed a new quadrant today also (upr triple hook) and ive already got the extreme firewall adjuster. it still needs to be adjusted a little more...but i love the pedal feel now.

I got my spec clutch from www.jdsperformance.com

When I put in my new cable and quadrant, it made my pedal sooo much stiffer, and it feels totally different. I really hate how it feels now. I've tried adusting it, and I'm almost positive the cable isn't binding. I'm not sure what made it feel so different. I'm just hoping the new clutch will improve the shifting. It's really hard to get into gear right now. I didn't want to get an adjustable cable, but I busted the plastic piece on the stock cable, and a stock cable from Ford is $140. No way i'm payin that.

thanks man, yeah i bought a ford cable...it was a ridiculous price..but oh well my adjustable one wasnt cuttin it

The stage 3 clutch is rated at up to 700hp according to what I read....that is serious power. I plan on a stage 2 but I think the 3 is only $40 more so maybe I should go that route too.

so far...

Stage I would have worked fine, Stage II would be more than enough but I got the Stage III because I like powershifting and hard launches and for $20 more why not. It's definatly a race clutch. There is no engauging, it's an on/off switch. It's hard to take off normally without stalling or chirping the tires. Impossible not to peal out in the rain. It rained last night and I was trying to break it in and I was all over the place. I would have gone Stage II or I for a daily driver.

I've put on 300 miles since last evening and today. I'm almost constantly shifting and my left leg is telling me about it. I haven't done any real launches, full throttle clutch releases, or power****s, but I have gotten on it. Much easier to shift and the car seems faster. I might take it to the track tomorow. It says 450 mile break in but I've done enough shifting for 2K miles. It feels like it's set.
