i just got them in and started it up, and man it sounded awesome. they have a real nice noticeable idle without being overly crazy, and the power from 3500 up is incredible. the install was so easy it made the cost of the cams easier to deal with. overall i am very happy with these cams and hope to get some sound clips up soon. i have to say thanks to t&j and vt for answering all my questions and being so helpful in me choosing the right cam for my combo. i would recomend these cams to most anyone staying n/a and using the factory rev limiter. i cant wait to get this thing dyno tuned to see if there is anything else left in the car

Awesome. I thought the cam install was easy to. You must have used the Anderson tool. Makes thing a whole lot easier. When I did mine it took roughly 1.5 to 2 hrs total. And that includes BS'n around. Enjoy that nice lopey idle.

Mac-man, were there any tuning issues, or did it
just start up and run? What is the idle RPM
(when warmed-up)?

Congrats on the VT's you'll love them!

You should definetly look into getting a tune, their's always alittle more.

Rio: It should be tuned w/ the cams, mine did start right up (i did the headswap at the same time) but it won't hold an idle for long w/o manually bumping up the idle I had mine set at 1000rpm and it would still die from time to time. W/ the tune we could only get it down to around 900rpm.

My VT Stage 1 and HS #'s are in sig.

Tell us about the install... did you have to mess with the lifters at all?

Mac-man,
Give us some more details. Did you use the AFM Camsaver tool? Was the install straight foreward, anything you would do different? Any advice for us first timers? I have been doing research on this for a while and the only thing I don't understand is the lash adjusters. Do you take them out and bleed them down? I believe there are quite a few of us that would like to do a cam swap, but are just a little hesitant without a little more insight. Thanks in advance for sharing your valuable knowledge.

Steeda just installed the VT Stage 1 cams on my 01GT and I gained 33RWHP and 13RWTQ after the tuning. Initially the first dyno pull after the install it was only making 20RWHP more. The car also had idle issues before the tuning as well...wouldn't hold and idle for to long. Here is the dyno sheet of the before and after pulls. The car runs great..it idles about 900 and have no stall issues at all.

Looks like most of that 13 extra hp was from leaning it out.

the install was very straight forward. i used the anderson cam tool, and everything went smoothly. as for installing the followers. i would rotate the motor until the cams were not on the cam lobe and then i would slip them over the valve and pop them onto the lifter this worked very well, and i had the coplete install done in about 2 hours i took several breaks, but the process was easy and well worth it. my car idles at about 750 and it does die from time to time. there are some idle issues but nuthing i am not willing to put up with until i get the tune. as for first time cam installers i would just say go for it. take your time and double chck everything and you should be ok. if anyone wants any other info feel free to pm or send me an email at mustang_mike962003@yahoo.com
