Installing the Fluidyne tonight, few Q's

I decided to buy a Fluidyne radiator after researching the work it would take to make a Summit universal radiator fit. I decided that since I'm going to be doing this in a parking garage I wanted something that would drop right in. Also, the Fluidyne seemed to get generally great reviews here.

Should I flush out the new Fluidyne before I install it? Would any crap be left in the radiator from manufacturing? How much coolant needs to be put in(gallons)? Is a 70/30 water/coolant mix good for the Phoenix heat? Anything else you guys can add would be great. My car has been running really hot since I got to Phoenix, like up to the L in NORMAL. I'm hoping the new radiator will significantly lower the temperature.

I have a fluidyne for my 95 gt and it bolted right in with no problems with fitment. I have a vortech supercharger on mine so i have a little less clearance and it still fit like a charm. Dont forget to use telflon tape around the drain petcock or it will leak. When you take your factory radiator out and compare the fluidyne it's almost a joke. I havnt had any leaks or problems and I noticed my car runs cooler. Hope that helps.

You'll need at least two gallons of new coolant, since the system will now hold nearly 4 gallons of mixed coolant... I would also add a bottle of water wetter, mainly for corrosion resistance. No need to flush the new radiator, because they do a good job of that after they test them for leaks... To make the fit a little easier, loosen the two bolts that hod the ABS unit to the frame rail, so you can move it back about 1/4" during radiator installlation... this only took a couple extra minutes, and made life real easy... Good luck, you'll be real happy.. and make sure you keep the receipt.. because Fluidyne will sometimes honor the warranty, even after its been up for more than a year...

Just did the install also

Just installed my fluidyne in my 95 cobra vert.

Took me 3 hours by myself.

A few notes

Definitely loosen those ABS bracket bolts before trying to wedge the radiator in there, it won fit without loosening them. The other tight spot is between the AC line the the bundle of wires right above the ac rad. I bent a few fins = (. Also make sure the drain screw and the overflow barb are tight, mine were not.

Sort of amazing it all fits in there. The car would be running right now but damn Schucks gave me the wrong lower rad hose. Bastards!
