What hole is this!?!

I have a set of these plugs.

Two questions:
A: What is the right way to install these?
B: Do I need sealer? It looks like the hole passes all the way through the heads.

I'm really not liking these and I'm ready to go buy a couple of bolts to torque down.
Thanks,
Jason

The port goes all the way through the heads front to rear above the exhaust ports. Using the plugs works fine if you have them...I've used bolts too, but the plugs are nice to have. As for sealing them, you'd probably want to use high heat loctite-can't recall which color is good for that though-green??

So just loctite them and screw them in flush will do the trick? I'm assuming that the other end (front) of the port gets plugged by a/c/alternator etc?
