Intake valves are going to hit my pistons....what are my options?

well, i mocked up my stuff tonight.....
short block as seen here...

I put the heads on ( Windsor senior lite aluminum heads) valves are 2.02 and 1.60... as seen here

cam is wolverine 1190 .493 intake lift .510 exhaust lift and 212/222 duration lsa is 110

when i mocked it up, i didnt use a head gasket because i dont have a compressed hg laying around...
i also installed the cam Dot to Dot
the intake valve actually hit the piston and i didnt go any further.....

Questions:
-would the head gasket in the make that much of a diffrence ( considering i should have .080" of clay "clearance" on intake and .100" on exhaust) will .039" of a gasket make enough for that?
-would degreeing the cam a diffrent way help?
-should i say F it and just sell these heads and get some ported TW's?
-what other options do i have?

by the way.... when i ordered the pistons, they told me that they had a .068 dish to them, they asked me what my stroke was, deck height, combustion chamber size, gasket thickness and some other things and they told me that with these pistons my comp ratio would be 8.67:1

(combustion chambers are 64cc on the windors)
 
You might be able to get thicker head gaskets. You may have to go with another cam or flycut the pistons. Maybe someone else on here that actually know something (unlike me) can help with other options.

Worst comes to worst, you can just say f*** it a give me your parts! lol
 
Just notch the pistons some more. I don't know if there are any problems with that on our stock pistons. I thought someone here did that for his 2.02 valves. They sell a tool for it. But since you have the block out, you could probably get a machine shop to do it. Your HG will make a difference though, but I doubt it will be enough.

See if you can take it to the machine shop they might be ble to fly cut those piston though they seem to have hard time doing it for people I guess they dont want any problems thats the problem with us 202 valve guys .

AHhhhhh.. the 2.02 valve size.. I'll bet it is way OUTSIDE the notch on the piston!! Yes?? Take a die grinder and "layback" the valve notch to clear the valve... it isnt that the notch isnt deep enough... it is it is too small!! Or pull the engine down and have a shop do it!! cool??

PS there is a .050 thick Felpro gasket out there.....
 
i might look into the .050 thick felpro....
fly cutting the pistons, doesnt that involve taking the pistons out? if not to fly cut them, then to balance everything?

yes, the valve touches ABOVE the valve relief in the piston

i have 1.6's now.... :nice:
and i dont think i will ever use a cometic gasket again.... been through 3 sets already, what a pain......:notnice:
 
i think you will knock those pistons right out of balance ,if you take off more on one piston than the other .if you were NA i would probably do it but when you increase the cylinder pressure and have a blower pulley on the harmonics of the engine its like important to have a good balance piece....but hey thats IMO

I would never take weight outta a piston (grinding) w/o re-weighing everything making sure each piston was exactly the same down to the nearest grahm. This is your rotating assy dude, dont do some shady stuff. Those look like stock forged replacements, easiest thing to do since your alls etup up (shortblock wise) get some tfs tw heads (2.02) they clear stock pistons.
Other wise i recc u pull the pistons have them flycut..and then re-mock the motor up and do your clearance cks.
 
So far i am with Eades5.0... im leaning towards selling these heads and getting some TW's

Unless there is some way that with maybe a thicker gasket, or adjusting my cam timing, or adjusting my rockers or pushrods or something to make these work.... ?
