Dude you are missing the point. I am not against the war in anyway, I am in the AFROTC right now, and hope to help protect the people of this country the best I can. I don't really have any problems with Bush and usually do not like liberals. So don't sit back and think you are talking to a tree hugging hippie. I do my part, but nothing can justify the things you have said. You can't damn the innocent just because of a handful or religious morons that preach murder. I don't think you have seen what those people go through that makes them point fingers, and why things like terrorism appeal to them. IT IS THAT BAD. These aren't delusions, there isn't much the people can do, if they rise up, then they will be the one up there getting their dome chopped off. Now specifically Iran is not an Arab nation, true Persians hate Arabs in every way because of Islam. It is Islam that has destroyed their nation, and believe me they do not support the government. Do not take what the media says as truth, if there is one thing I hate about our nation it is the media. They focus on what will make them money, not what is true. If you have seen the TV being transmitted by the people from their then you will see that the people actually love America and that the ones that can come here and end up being our doctors and scientists. I have seen what really goes on down there, and it is not just Iran, Iraq was the same way. Imagine being a musician, and just because you wrote a song that said something ill about the government. They march up to the top of a hill, cut each of your fingers off individually, then give you lashes, push you to the bottom, beat the piss out of you, and sew your mouth shut. That makes a statement to those wanting to rise up. The media doesn't tell you this. These aren't delusions and this is the real world, even if they did hate us, people change, the next generation coming in will like us. Do you know why? Because their nation won't be such a big ****hole and some ****er like Osama can't come out and point fingers at us, to win their support. In short save human lives instead of ending them.



The reason I made the tree hugger statement, is because you sound like a republican, and I wanted you to know that you are not dealing with a liberal. I want you to see that your view was a simple minded and cruel solution to a problem. Now, to rebute lol. I agree with what other dude said about the Media. Propaganda is the worst aspect of every war because it leaves everyone uneducated to the real situation at hand. I dont deny that when Osama decided to fly some planes into the world trade centers that it was a heartfelt attack against the world. However...instead of taking it in as wow, ok, we just got pwnd. The Media shows respectable war footage. If you want to see what really happens go to ogrish.com and look under terrorism. I work with the military and see the REAL side of what is happening. Of course I cannot say anything because I have a clearance. But, the media is hiding the real war because it is NASTY. Road side bombs, Americans shot in the head, decapitated Iraqi police and national defense members. This is the nastiest of wars in many, many years because the terrorists are NOT afraid to die. Americans and the coalition don't want to die. I have friends who have been there twice in the second war and WANT to go back. I think that things are settling down in the region and we just need to keep our game face on and let baby Bush run the show. There are reasons to be there. You all think it was about WMD's? ah, no. We don't want 9-11 again or anything even similar on OUR soil. I stand proud for my country, mourn the "volunteers" who went to Iraq and support our democracy and protect what is ours. We have terrible problems in our own country with gangs, murderers, and child rapest's but that is one tenth of what could happen if terrorists start popping dirty bombs or doing suicide bombs in the USA.

Can you imagine not feeling safe to go to Red Lobster because some terrorist could come in and blow nails through your head. Be glad you don't have to carry an AK around town just to go get dinner. America rules. Let the muslems be muslems, but the insurgants are demons. Insurgants have attacked women and children with acid and scarred them for life for nothing. Saadam's Army killed thousands of non-believers. There are reasons for Iraq. Iran is next. Thank god Pakistan is on our side and is still looking for Osama.

I cannot flame anyone for their comments in this post. That is what I wanted, a poll. If someone wants to make a parking lot out of Iran and Iraq, he/she definatly would not make a good soldier and does not understand human life. I know many old men from WWII that hate "Japs". Our country needs the full support of all the Americans to be strong minded soldiers. Do not fear death but always be 100% cautious and protect yourself and your comrads. I salute you! I spent nine years in the Navy and wish I could have done more before a sports injury got me booted out. I still work for the military and so does my wife. Since I was 19 (now 35) all I have known is military protocol and stand proud as I see our flag wave no matter where it is. I think all young men should do some military time because it has made me a stronger minded, smarter individual. Stupid yahoo's used to flip me off while I was in uniform in my active duty days. So sad that pure bred Americans cannot stand up and serve their country even for a few years. If your 18-19, enlist in any service. You will thank ????? when your enlistment is over because getting a post service job is easy and you get thousands for school. They even pay 100% of tuition while active duty now. Great benefits!!!

I swear I just read the same speech that the military officials gave to 16 year olds from Farenheit 9/11. My favorite part of that documentary is when he interviews government officials and they either run for their lives or express on camera how they would not let their own children enlist. Its nice to know that the people behind the desk are willing to let other people die for their own greed, but would shelter their kin from probable death. not to many opinions to post but i would like to make a few comments that i hope everyone remembers.

one, you can be proud of your country, but that doesn't mean you have to support everything the goverment does, the country was originally set up to give the people the balance of power and to not trust everything the goverment says or does.....

two, i hope to god no matter what anyone's opinions are they support the troops, their only doing as their told and i sure hope thats one thing vietnam tought us.....

three, don't believe everything you see on tv. the world is much more complicated than just other countries that hate us or fight amongst themselves. think about this, if you could be privy to all the information deep within the goverment that pertains to our country and our world, it would probably change the way you view things forever.

four, terrorism has been around forever, it will always be a threat to some extent, i hope we're smart enough as a country to realize life isn't 100% safe and we don't go on a quest to try to make life 100% safe......if we did that we'd be in total lockdown 24-7.

five, there are terrorist cells living in the usa right now, if they wanted to blow crap up they could.

six, unfortunatly, nuclear, and biological weapons are here to stay, we can't un-invent them, if we could it would all be much simpler, point being, some of what we're seeing is the effect of man progressing in technology, there's no simple way outa it now.......
