IRS Trac-Loc rebuild

I have a 99 Cobra. When I had a new clutch and aluminum flywheel this week they had it on the rack. The mechanic said I need my trac-loc rebuilt. But he also said they don't do IRS diff.'s because the spreader tool is $500 and can only be used on Cobra IRS's. I hesitate to go to the dealer for fear of being raped. Anyone have any suggestions?

jack car up. see if you can rotate tire the oppsite way or hold one if you can spin they other side with ease them its weak. my 03 cobra had 28,ooo miles and it was gettong weak alreay. my 99 cobra had 58k and was still pulling posi to the right . working on the irs sucks , i got solid axle now.

I already know they are going. I just wonder what Ford wants to rebuild them?
