Ill be ordering a 05 GT soon, and Im wondering how hot a black car would get? IS it really something that I need to consider? I live in south FL by the way. I also like the dark charcoal int. that will make it worse.. and For those of you who have a black 05, what int. color did you pick?
thanks
JD

Black CC-Dark charcoal leather here...Very hot in dirrect sun for sure.

Black Clear coat is beautiful when clean...I LOVE it.....but it's hard to near impossible to keep clean....Don't touch it ...Also dry it very well after you wash it....
Be sure you want to invest the time to clean it...or chose another color....This I say from much experience....I wouldn't change MY choice...but my car is in a garage most of the time too you see.

Pollen sucks. Choose wisely.........

FWIW, I live in AZ, valley of the sun, but not much if any farther South than Florida, and I have a Black '88 ntch, and a black Taurus SHO, And in the sun they become ovens, literally. Anything in direct sunlight becomes too hot to touch. Tint and a window shade would help but not sure how much. It all matters how much you can take.

black is stupid in very hot climates..... florida is great for white, with tan interiors, or any light color interior if you get a convertible.... black exterior looks nice, but is a total pain in the rear to keep clean... and they dont look as good in the sunlight,, better in the shade.... they even wrote a song about that......if you want to feel the difference,, go into a motorcycle shop,, take a white helmet and a black helmet outside into the hot sun,,, after a few minutes, feel both,, the difference is dramatic.

I had a black 98 GT. I traded it in for the satin 05 GT. One of the factors was how hot that car got in the summertime I live in Northern California and in the summer it gets up to 110 once and awhile. The black car gets stuffy and you have to leave the air con on full blast. I tinted all the widows on that car but it did not help enough. It is a great looking color for the stang but very hot.
And you have to stay on top of it when it comes to keeping it clean.

My other car is a black 2500HD crew cab. Beautiful truck, tough to keep clean, hot in the summer (of course, it does have an excellent a/c system).

I now live in Texas. I personally think black is absolutely awesome on a car or truck but I chose the Torch Red GT. Black is too much work to keep clean and in 3 or 4 years the paint job just doesn't look the same in the sun. Good Luck!

I had two black cars when I lived in Southern California. They never got too hot for me but they were noticably hotter than any other color I've had.

They looked great when they were washed and waxed but they were a major pain to keep clean. No more black cars for me.
