is the 95 model year as reliable as the 96?

Sorry, I should have mentioned I was talking about Josh95GT's signature. It mentioned he was looking for suggestions. My mistake. Anyway, ON topic, you can't go wrong with a 5.0. A lot of people think it is the best engine ever made by Ford. I guess 27 years of production backs that up. Plus, as somebody mentioned before, they are cheap to fix IF they do break down.
i understand, no problem. your comments on the 5.0 were my thoughts exactly.

thanks to everyone for the peace of mind that this '95 is most likely going to be reliable.

I'm hoping mine will last me the rest of my driving life. I bought it new in 1995 and it now has 4,965 miles on it. It's a Rio Red body with a white top and white leather interior GT that I bought new in May 1995. It sure is a great car. Mark :D :D :D

Mine has almost 102,000 miles and it's still running strong, actually it's running better than when I bought it when it had 84,000 miles. The engine burns no oil, or at least none that I can tell, because every 3,000 miles when I change the oil there's just as much coming out as I put in. Besides the balancer going out, I haven't had any major problems.

The only parts of my Mustang that has failed is the balancer at 80k miles...seems to be common  . The other is the A/C pressure switch which died at about 77k miles. I bought my car in 4-02 with 64k mile and now have 84k miles. I DON'T BABY MY BABY!!! It sees 5k rpms shifts everytime I get in it :D and dead reliable so far :nice: .

Mine has 119,000 and I just added a Paxton Supercharger. Compression test of the cylinders before the install yeilded 130 PSI on a cold motor. Only thing that has broken has been the U Joints and I just replaced that w/ an Aluminum FMS drive shaft. Oh yeah and the Passenger side strut went out a few yrs ago, the other one kinda squeeks now and could prob be replaced. Other then that its run awesome, cant ask much more out of a car thats almost 10 yrs old. My ballancer even lasted the 119,000 miles, I just recently replaced it w/a Romac not b/c it was broken but b/c I dident want to push the issue after putting the supercharger on.

4,965 miles? Are you kidding me? Is that a typo? I thought I didn't put a lot of miles on a car--about 500 a month--but that's incredible. You must have another car.
No, not kidding!!!! 4,965 original miles!!!! I also have a 1988 Lincoln Town Car that has just turned 100,000 miles and still runs great, a 2002 Ranger "Edge" 4x4 regular cab(everyday driver) and a 2001 Ford 150 "Lightning" with (and this is correct also) 1,713 miles. I also bought this truck new. My thought is that if I live long enough to retire, I'll have at least two great vehicles to drive as long as I want to drive!!! Mark :D :D :D
