Currently I have a 2000 gt and I enjoy the car alot. However, as I am starting to get ready to mod, a co worker who is older suggest that I should just buy his fox since its already done and he doesn't drive it anymore (wife and kids take up most of his time now). So here are the specs along with the price and your insight would be greatly appreciated. However I must stress that it is a vert and I am not really a vert guy.

1991 Fox Gt Vert
Black on black with 20K on everything done

Suspension
MM FL Sub Connectors
MM Roll Bar without harness bar or door bars
H&R springs
MM CC plates
Upper and lower control arms
Upgraded shocks

Drivetrain
TKO 600
Ram HDX clutch
Steel flywheel
4.10s
Rebuilt track lock
5 lug upgrade

Engine
331 stroker
AFR or Edelbrock heads (can't remember which)
Holley Intake
Novi 2000
60lb injectors
LT headers
BBK X
Mac catback

Since I am in Cal, some of the mods won't pass emissions but he has all the stock parts to pass emissions such as smog pump and exhaust items. The price he gave to me is $3500ish.

Thanks guys and gals

What's the mileage on the car?

Price is in the ballpark, but your details said nothing about the car and everything about the mods.

So hard to say buy it if the car is a heap and needs a new top and paint job and no ac and two window motors burned out.

Buy the car, not the modifications.

That's a super low price for a car with a strong running stroked, blown, HCI motor, and a built suspension. I'd take a very critical look at what's wrong with it before I plunked down the cash on something that seems so fishy.

I hope that is $3500+ your GT in trade. Cause $3500 straight up even for a stock blown 302 car is cheap enough to be fishy IMO.

Nope its $3500 for the entire car, he had it listed for $5500 but wants to sell it to a fellow mustang owner who will treat the car right (when listed before got lots of calls from low ballers and highschool kids). The car has been garage kept since he bought it in 98 and is very clean inside and out, and the top does not leak. He spent a lot of time to freshen up the entire car when he bought it and everything on the car is functional as he is very OCD about building a solid, very functional car. (IE he hates when people just piece cars together, he did everything all at once) The paint is a little faded but nothing a nice polish could not take car of. The car has never been to the strip or the road course and was built to be a high hp street cruiser. Now that he has two young kids, he doesn't feel safe having them in the car with him, and lost interest due to buying a classic mopar.

The main two negative that I felt was the car has not moved out of the garage in quite awhile, probably has sat close to 8 or 9 months without at least starting because the batter when dead and he has not gotten around to getting it charged up. The second being the car needs to be retuned because currently it runs a tad rich on the wideband.

I plan on going to look at it soon, just have not had time and could take a few pics. Oh and IIRC the total mileage on the car is close to 85kish

Thats a great deal if the interior/exterior is as good as shape as it sounds like. 8 month sit isnt a big deal.

A retune shouldnt be a big deal either.

The only thing is you aren't a convertible fan. That's what would weigh the heaviest in my book.

Even if the body is trash, the parts are worth the asking price. Whats to stop you from buying a roller and swapping all the goodies over?

8 month sit is no big deal. I haven't even driven my car in 1.5 years.

The question is not if it is a good deal.

The question is do you want another mustang.... and if so, is this what you want?

You said you really like your 2000 and were thinking of some mods but what would you do or how you then use the car? If you are just looking for some suspension and a small bump in power then I would say improve the car you already have (and really like..btw) before jumping into another vehicle that will certainly cost more than you expect (insurance, repairs, etc)

Especially if you are not really a vert guy but the choice is up to you. If you are looking to get a deal and possibly flip it later than that is a different story.

Just my $0.02

i would jump on that deal ASAP. like hoopty5.0 said, if you absolutely can't stand the vert, buy a nice roller and drop the setup straight into it. and if SN95's are your thing, buy a 94-95 roller and drop the drivetrain into it. Seems like too good of a deal to pass up on. and that kinda car around my area would definately run anywhere from $6K to $9K.

If you say you're not a convertible guy then I would absolutely not bother. Also, you say "you're ready to mod" so why would you buy a car that's already modded when the only modding it seems you'd be doing is returning some aspects back to stock to be able to pass emissions?

I owned an 03GT. I kinda wish I had it back. Do some mods to the GT and you might be happy
