is this good compression

hello, i have a 95 with a 2000 engine in it.

#1 160-185

#2 170-185

#3 160-180

#4 160-180

#5 160-180

#6 150-170


how are these numbers looking. just doing a check.

everything seems good except the last one, might wanna check on that.

They're fine. The #6 is slightly lower than the rest, but only by about 10lbs or so. That's not at all unusual if the motor has any miles on it. You're just fine.

how do you do a compression test? i can do one on a 4 cylinder...but i dunno what to do on my v6?

it is most likely the same. i thought there was only one way. i checked each cylinder 2 or 3 times before i went to the next

i got it to operating temp. and used no oil in the cylinders. then i let it turn over about 2 or 3 times

no oil as in no oil? or is that a product u used? I am not aware of how you do it...in 4 cylinders we stick a compression tube straight into the cylinder area...i really have no clue on how to do it at all..

no oil as in pouring a little oil into the cylinder to get a better compression reading.
