Is your car paid for?

Hey Cave, I did the same thing in 08 only because the price was so good and financing was so expensive...the car was 21,400, + Tax,+ Tag,+ Title,+ whatever else I forgot.....25,800 Total

Hey Cave and Not where in Fla r u guys? Are you guys in any Mustang clubs? I'm in the Daytona area.

I'm on the Gulf coast in Citrus County about 1-1/2 hours from both Tampa and Orlando. We have a Mustang club here (Nature Coast Mustangs) that is pretty active but I'm usually cave diving on weekends so I don't get to attend too many of their activities.

FWIW, 0% financing is always in lieu of all other rebates and promotional discounts. Cash is just about always cheaper than 0% financing (provided you have the cash).

That is true, but not so much anymore. With how bad car sales are right now some dealers/makers are offering both.

I took the 0% for 72 months when I got mine at the end of '06

Paid Off

My 2006 GT convertible is the first car I ever ordered. I retired after 32 years with General Electric, took a chunk out of my 401K. Wrote a big check. 100% down and no easy payments. It was my retirement present to myself. :nice:

Paid cash for mine, clear title. However, I'm looking towards retirement but I also took a hit on my brokerage account so the mods have stopped. Anyway, my car is pretty much where I want it as far as mods. In general, I do need to curb my spending.

So the economy had an effect on me. I'm telling folks the word economy is the most commonly used word nowadays. The correct word to use is depression, and we're in a full blown one.

You don't want to hear my story. You guys are all way better off than me. I have a 2008 GT coupe, just over a year old, with 5,800 miles on it, and garaged all winter.

Because I rolled my previous loan into this one I still owe something like $34k on my loan. 5 years still to go. If I get laid off this year and don't find another job I'm screwed, the car will have to go back, and I will be entering a world of hurt.

That's why I never put any mods on my car I can't remove again and sell separately. All I did so far was to fit a Steeda CAI and 93 octane tune plus a Hurst short shifter and a set of Ford Racing GTA mufflers. There will be no more modding until the economic situation improves.

I know, it's my fault, but I know I ain't the only one out there in this position.
